Warm-up and intermission music by Johnny Oakes.Master of Ceremonies, Dave PortmanColors presented by Mt. Calvary Commandry #67.The National Anthem, sung by Jessica Taylor.The band opened with "A Christmas Festival".Dr. Hendley D. Hoge, completing his 33rd year as director of the Mercer Community Band.Guest clarinet soloist, Dr. Alice Wang, entertained with "Immer Kleiner".Dr. Wang dismantled her clarinet during the piece, continuing to play on the remaining parts, then finishing on only the mouthpiece.Dr. Wang received a  well-deserved round of applause from both the audience and the band."Sleigh Ride" is always an audience favorite.A large crowd was on hand for the concert.Assistant Director, Ken Jewell, directed "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas".Mr. Jewell was also at the podium for "Hallelujah".Tammy Menk was a saxophone soloist on "Christmas from the 50's" along with Rita Ferrere on trumpet.Vocal soprano soloist, Brianne Kochunas.Ms. Kochunas opened with "Alleluja from Exultate, Jubilate".Ms. Kochunas teamed with Doug Butchy, on tenor saxophone, for an interesting duet with, "Baby, It's Cold Outside".A special visitor was on hand to greet children of all ages.Santa directed "Here Comes Santa Clause" and "Up on the Housetop".Many band members were decked out in Santa hats in honor of the "Jolly Old Elf".Santa stayed after to hear the Christmas wishes of all the good girls and boys.
