Vehicle 1: 1970 1/2 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Engine: 400 cubic inch V-8 with M-20 4-Speed
Transmission and Ram Air III
Owner: Chester Coulter, Grove City, PA
Chester purchased the Trans Am from the original owner in 1989. At that time it had 51, 000 miles on it, and now it has 56,000. It had front fender damage and would not pass inspection. Chester and his son did a complete off-frame, ground-up restoration between 1995 and 1997. The Trans Am is equiped with the 400 cubic inch high performance Ram Air III engine, 4-speed manual transmission, 355 rear axel and the 12-bolt safety-trac differential. All told, 3196 Trans Am’s were built as 1970 models. For a model with a late introduction (February 26, 1970) this still amounted to nearly a five-fold increase over the introductory 1969. Of these, 1769 manual and 1339 automatic transmissioned Ram Air III T/A’s were built.
Vehicle 2: 1940 Packard 120 Sedan
Engine: 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass Engine and Transmission
Owner: Kevin Kirk, Pulaski, PA
Kevin has owned this unique car for five years. The exterior of the car (except for tires and wheels) is orginal 1940 Packard. The front end of the chassis is from a Ford Torino and the rear is from a Chevy S-10 pick-up truck. The engine and transmission are from a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The interior and exterior have been done in a patriotic theme and the back seat carries an important passenger - Uncle Sam.
